Skilled Trades Employer Symposium
Preparing the Next Generation for the Workforce
Invitation to Skilled Trades Employers & Industry Leaders
Dear Industry Partner,Prerequisite Trades Academy (PTA) cordially invites you to participate in our Skilled Trades Employer Symposium, bringing together employers and industry leaders from HVAC/R, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Welding, and related skilled trades.
As we prepare the next generation of skilled trades professionals, we believe employers should have a voice in how tomorrow’s workforce is trained.
This symposium will provide an opportunity for an open and productive discussion about what employers look for in younger employees entering the skilled trades, as well as the advantages, challenges, and concerns associated with recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining the next generation of workers.
Discussion Topics
- What qualities make a young candidate stand out?
- What technical and soft skills are employers looking for?
- Work ethic, attendance, communication, and professionalism
- Advantages of hiring and developing younger employees
- Challenges employers experience with younger workers
- Skills and behaviors often missing in entry-level candidates
- Employment opportunities
- How PTA can better prepare students to meet employer expectations
Your experience and perspective are extremely valuable to us. The information shared during this symposium will help PTA strengthen our curriculum, student development, and workforce-readiness standards so our graduates are better prepared to become dependable, professional, and productive employees from day one.
We hope you will join us and help PTA build a stronger bridge between training and employment for the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
